mwen, ou, li
1. Grammar focus #
Haitian Creole subject pronouns are compact and regular. The same verb form follows every subject, so learners can build sentences quickly.
Pronunciation guide: mwen = mwen; ou = oo; li = lee; nou = noo; yo = yoh.
2. Rule #
Use mwen for I, ou for you, li for he/she/it, nou for we, and yo for they.
