fanmi, manman
1. Vocabulary focus #
Family vocabulary appears early in conversation, introductions, listening activities, and beginner stories.
Pronunciation guide: fanmi = fahn-mee; manman = mahn-mahn; papa = pah-pah.
2. How to use it #
Possession often follows the noun: manman mwen means my mother, and frè li means his or her brother.
3. Vocabulary building blocks #
Practice the family word first, then add a pronoun after it.
